Art and video for Anna Clock's UMBRA, 2023

I work collaboratively and solo across media, with a preference for charcoal, crayon, and gouache paint. I edit video, draw and paint and have previously made tiny online game/ experiences.I use my work to explore ideas about bodies & embodiment, place & landscape, belonging & connection in a time of digital expression, hyper-visibility and hyper-surveillance.I regularly reference satellite imagery in my creative practice, creating collaged hybrid landscapes that invite a close look and careful attention but resist legibility. I also draw from found images submitted by Google Earth users, with particular attraction to glitches and broken forms.My formal studies have been in digital anthropology, and ancient humanities and art.
